Renaissance Senior Living of Vero Beach Nominated for Environmental Award

VERO BEACH, Fla. (February 22, 2018) – Renaissance Senior Living of Vero Beach, a premier senior living community serving the Indian River County area, was nominated for an environmental award through the Keep Indian River Beautiful campaign, a Keep America Beautiful affiliate.

Renaissance Senior Living of Vero Beach was nominated for the Environmental Award in the large business category, one of six categories also including youth, organization, small business, individual and youth individual. Nominations were submitted by the public.

“We are extremely honored to be nominated for this award, and we are proud of our role in protecting the environment of this beautiful community,” said Liz Earman, the Vero Beach assisted living and memory care facility’s executive director.

Renaissance Senior Living of Vero Beach has made efforts to improve their surrounding environment by recycling an existing building and upgrading every aspect of the three-story structure to be energy efficient. This facility has removed existing fuel tanks from the previous gas station, uses natural gas for cooking, has xeriscaping material to reduce water usage on their landscape, uses LED bulbs throughout the building, and has initiatives to incorporate energy efficient controls of all shared area heating and air conditions.

“We also strive daily to be good citizens by recycling all cardboard, following codes to ensure proper disposal of all kitchen refuse, and recycling oil in specialized plastic to reduce any corrosive material that may contaminate the oil for processing,” Earman said.

Renaissance Senior Living was among those honored at a Feb. 16 luncheon and awards ceremony for this select nomination with county dignitaries, fellow community members, local businesses, and other nominees. Renaissance Senior Living received a certificate of appreciation for their efforts to improve their surrounding community environment.

We are proud of our role in protecting the environment of this beautiful community.
